The person I like most is a teacher by profession. He is an ideal and iconic figure to me. His name is Reza Khan. He teaches at a renowned educational institution of our city. He teaches at a reputed school of Chattogram city. He is about 50 years old. Though he is old enough, he looks very young. He is fair looking, tall and handsome. He never feels bored. He always encourages us about your studies. If anyone falls into any other trouble, he also tries to help him. In fact, he is like a friend to us. Another thing that I like about him mot is that his behaviour is good and he always tries to keep good terms with others. He is also meritorious and industrious.

The first of May is known as `May Day’ or the ‘International Workers Day’ and observed almost all over the world. The day is observed to commemorate the workers who sacrificed their lives in Chicago in May 1886. On May 3, 1886 police fired upon a gathering of strikers who demanded their rights at the McComick Harvest Machine Company, Chicago. One striker was shot dead, some were fatally wounded and many were injured. The workers now enjoy a number of facilities such as eight-hour workday, minimum wage, safety laws and so on. But all these privileges were the outcome of the supreme sacrifices made by the workers on May 3, 1886. At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, they had to work for fourteen or even more hours a day. Every year the day is observed with great solemnity. People wear black badges, attend seminars and processions, reflect on the sacrifices made by the workers, and vow anew to stand against all oppression and injustice against workers. Finally, the day is a source of inspiration for the workers and teaches unity and solidarity upon them.

অনুবাদঃ পহেলা মে, মে দিবস বা আন্তর্জাতিক শমিক দিবস হিসেবে পরিচিত এবং এটি বিশ্বব্যাপী পালিত হয়। ১৮৮৬ সালের মে মাসে শিকাগোতে যেসব শ্রমিক নিজেদের জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছিল তাদের স্মরণ করার জন্য এ দিনটি উদযাপিত হয়। ১৮৮৬ সালের ৩রা মে শিকাগোতে ম্যাককোমিক হারভেষ্ট কোম্পানিতে নিজেদের অধিকারের দাবীতে ধর্মঘটকারী জনতার সমাবেশে পুলিশ গুলি করে। একজন ধর্মঘটকারীকে গুলি করে মারা যায়, বেশ কিছু মারাত্মকভাবে আহত হয় এবং অনেকে আঘাতপ্রাপ্ত হয়। আজকাল শ্রমিকরা বেশ কিছু সুবিধা ভোগ করে যেমন আটঘণ্টা কর্ম দিবস, ন্যূনতম বেতন, নিরাপত্তা আইন ইত্যাদি। কিন্তু এই সুবিধাগুলো হচ্ছে ১৮৮৬ সালের ৩রা মে- তে শ্রমিকদের সর্বোচ্চ ত্যাগের ফসল। শিল্পবিপ্লবের শুরুতে, তাদেরকে দিনে চৌদ্দ ঘণ্টা এমনকি এর চেয়ে বেশি কাজ করতে হত। প্রতিবছর দিনটি অত্যন্ত ভাবগম্ভীর্যের সাথে পালিত হয়। লোকরো কালো ব্যাজ পরিধান করে, মিছিল-সেমিনারে যোগ দেয় শ্রমিকদের ত্যাগের উপর আলোকপাত করে এবং শ্রমিকদের প্রতি সকল অন্যায় অত্যাচারের বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়ানোর নতুন শপথ নেয়। পরিবেশে, এ দিনটি শ্রমিকদের অনুপ্রেরণার উৎস এবং তাদেরকে ঐক্য ও সংহতির শিক্ষা দেয়।

The persons I like and love most are my parents. I have every reason to feel proud of them. The names of my parents are Mr. Karim Ahmed and Mrs. Amina Begum respectively. Both of them are well-educated. My father is an MA. My mother is a BA. My father is the Headmaster of a high school and my mother is an ideal housewife. Both of my parents are satisfied with their works. My father has been working as a head teacher for twenty years. He never neglects his duty nor my mother every expresses dissatisfaction in doing household works. She looks after the family with great care. She does her best for the welfare of our family. She loves to do the household works with her own hand. She always cooks food for our family. Both of my parents love me very much. All their thoughts and activities are to make me a well-educated man. They always advise me to be an honest man. They become very anxious when I fall ill. They remain by my bed all the time during this time. I love them very much. I never displease them with any of my works. I love them because they are the best human beings to me. I always try not to hurt them by my words or behavior. They are my heart and soul. I always thank Allah for being a child of such parents.

অনুবাদঃ যে ব্যক্তিদেরকে আমি সবচেয়ে বেশি পছন্দ করি এবং ভালোবাসি তারা হলেন আমার বাবা-মা। তাদেরকে নিয়ে গর্ব করার মত প্রত্যেক কারণ আমার আছে। আমার পিতা মাতার নাম হচ্ছে যথাক্রমে মি. করিম আহমেদ ও মিসেস আমিনা বেগম। তাদের উভয়ই সুশিক্ষিত। আমার পিতা একজন এম.এ। আমার মাতা বি.এ। আমার পিতা একটি হাই স্কুলের প্রধান শিক্ষক এবং আমার মাতা একজন আদর্শ গৃহকর্ত্রী। আমার পিতামাতা উভয়ই তাদের কাজের ব্যাপারে সন্তুষ্ট। আমার পিতা বিশ বছরে ধরে প্রধান শিক্ষক হিসেবে কাজ করছেন। তিনি কখনো তার কাজে অবহেলা করেন না। এমনকি আমার মাতাও কখনো তার গৃহস্থালীর কাজের ব্যাপারে অসন্তুষ্টি প্রকাশ করেন না। তিনি অত্যন্ত যত্নের সাথে তার পরিবারকে দেখাশুনা করেন। তিনি আমাদের পরিবারের কল্যাণের জন্য যথাসাধ্য চেষ্টা করেন। তিনি গৃহস্থালীর কাজ নিজের হাতে করতে পছন্দ করেন। তিনি সর্বদা আমাদের পরিবারের জন্য খাবার রান্না করেন। আমার পিতামাতা উভয়েই আমাকে খুব ভালোবাসেন। তাদের সকল চিন্তা ও কর্মকাণ্ড হচ্ছে আমাকে সুশিক্ষিত মানুষে পরিণত করা। তারা আমাকে একজন সৎ মানুষ হতে সর্বদা উপদেশ দেন। যখন আমি অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়ি তখন তারা খুব উদ্বিগ্ন হন। এ সময় তারা সর্বক্ষণ আমার বিছানার পাশে থাকেন। আমি তাদেরকে খুব ভালোবাসি। আমি আমার কোনো কাজ দ্বারা কখনো তাদেরকে অসন্তুষ্ট করি না। আমি তাদেরকে ভালবাসি কারণ তারা আমার কাছে শ্রেষ্ঠ মানুষ। আমি সর্বদা আমার কোন কথা বা ব্যবহার দ্বারা তাদেরকে কষ্ট না দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করি। তারা আমার হৃদয় ও আত্মা। আমি এরূপ পিতামাতার একজন সন্তান হয়ে সর্বদা আল্লাহকে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করি।
