Ans:

Deforestation means cutting down trees in a large numbers. There are many causes of deforestation. The main cause is man’s greed to make a quick profit. The lucrative price of wood allures the greedy people to cut down trees. Forests are also being cleared as a process of urbanization. People find it more profitable to build houses, factories etc by clearing forests. Deforestation has a very negative impact on man’s life and environment. It causes ecological imbalance by destroying the flora and fauna of our environment. Deforestation is directly related to global warming. Due to global warming carbon dioxide increases, which results in raising temperature. Besides, the sea level is rising and many parts of the world are being flooded. On the other hand, new areas of the world are turning into deserts. Natural calamities like flood, soil erosion  and drought also have relations with deforestation. In order to save human life and environment, we must take measures to prevent deforestation. Govt. should make laws against deforestation. Tree plantation programmes should be strengthened. Urbanization should be well-planned so that forests are not cleared to expand city areas. Above all, people’s wariness should be raised about the dangerous of deforestation. 

অনুবাদঃ নির্বনীকরণ অর্থ হলো ব্যাকপভাবে বৃক্ষ কেটে ফেলা। নির্বনীকরণের অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। মানুষের দ্রæত লাভ করার লোভ হচ্ছে এর প্রধান কারণ। কাঠের লোভনীয় মূল্য লোভী মানুষকে গাছ কেটে ফেলতে প্রলুব্ধ করে। নগরায়ণের প্রক্রিয়া হিসেবেও বন পরিষ্কার করা হচ্ছে। বন কেটে ঘর-বাড়ি, কলকারখানা ইত্যাদি নির্মাণ করা মানুষ অনেক বেশি লাভজনক বিবেচনা করে। নির্বনীকরণ মানুষের জীবন ও পরিবেশের উপর খুবই নেতিবাচক প্রভাব ফেলে। এটি আমাদের পরিবেশের উদ্ভিদ ও প্রাণিকুল ধ্বংস করে পরিবেশের ভারসাম্যহীনতা সৃষ্টি করে। নির্বনীকরণ বৈশ্বিক উষ্ণতার সাথে সরাসরি সম্পর্কিত। বৈশ্বিক উষ্ণতার কারণে কার্বন-ডাই অক্সাইড বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে যার ফলে তাপমাত্রা বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। তাছাড়া সমুদ্রের পানির স্তর বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে এবং বিশ্বের অনেক অংশ প্লাবিত হচ্ছে। অন্যদিকে, বিশ্বের নতুন নতুন স্থান মরুভ’মিতে পরিণত হচ্ছে। বন্যা, ভূমিক্ষয় ও অনাবৃষ্টির মতো প্রাকৃতিক দূর্যোগের সাথে নির্বনীকরণের সরাসরি সম্পর্ক রয়েছে। মানব জীবন ও পরিবেশকে রক্ষা করতে আমাদের অবশ্যই নির্বনীকরণ প্রতিরোধ করার ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে। সরকারের উচিত নির্বনীকরণের বিরুদ্ধে আইন তৈরী করা। বৃক্ষরোপণ কর্মসূচি জোরদার করা উচিত। নগরায়ণ সুপরিকল্পিত হওয়া উচিত যাতে শহুরে এলাকাকে সম্প্রসারিত করতে বন পরিষ্কার করা না হয়। সর্বোপরি, নির্বনীকরণের বিপদ সম্পর্কে মানুষের সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা উচিত।
