Water is an essential element of environment. No one can live without water. This is why water is called life. But nowadays it is being polluted in many ways. This pollution of water through various ways is called water pollution. Different kinds of human waste fall into water through unplanned drainage systems. Chemicals and fertilizers used by farmers and industrial waste pollute water. Engine vehicles using fossil fuels ply the rivers and seas, and leave oil and waste materials into water. As a result, water is polluted Thermal pollution and radio-active wastage are also responsible. The effects of water pollution are numerous because it triggers imbalance in the entire environment and becomes the cause of many diseases. Every year diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid and such other diseases breaking out as a result of water pollution cause millions of deaths in the world. To prevent water pollution, we should leave no stone upturned and have to check all the culprits responsible for it. Proper dumping of all sorts of waste is the most effective step here. Sanitary latrines should be introduced widely in the river-side areas. Passing as we as enforcing a law against dumping of waste into water is sure to be fruitful. In fact, preventing water pollution is a crying need for us. because it harms the aquatic life and, after all, the entire environment.
