- What experience did you gather by visiting the fair?
Ans:
A book fair is an exhibition where different types of books are displayed and sold. Nowadays it has become very popular. I was very lucky to visit the Ekushey Boi Mela this year. It was my first visit to the largest book fair of our country. The fair was held in the premises of Bangla Academy. The authority of Bangla Academy organizes it every year. It is organized to remind us the struggle and sacrifice in the language movement in 1952. I went there with some of my friends. When I entered the main gate of the fair, I found a different environment. I saw hundreds of book stalls. I found all sorts of books such as fictions, dramas, children books, reference books etc. Men, women and children of all ages and classes gathered there. From a book stall, I bought some of my favourite books. In the evening, many poets, novelists and writers came to visit the fair. It was the first time I saw some famous writers of our country. I was happy to take autographs of Zafar Iqbal, Selina Hossain and Nirmolendu Goon. In one corner of the fair there were some stalls selling DVDs’ and some fancy goods. I bought a DVD of poetry recitation. We also enjoyed a cultural programme on the Bangladesh Academy stage. All these were exciting experiences to me. In the evening I left the fair with a mind full of joy and cheerfulness.
